While cooking has been a great focus for the children, there are other things going on in the Rivers Class as well.
We have been working to make sure every child has had an opportunity to learn how to correctly form some of the letters of his or her name. Many children then use those skills as they sign their names on messages.
Some children have written a short, first story. They illustrated the stories and created books. Several children have read their stories aloud to the class and the books are now living in our class bookshelves for anyone to read.
The blocks area has been lively. Children are collaborating and designing in new ways. We see interesting partnerships form here, as enthusiasm for creating links classmates together.
