We have prepared by hearing the story and by meeting Paolo, the 8th Grade student who will act in the role of Jesus with us. Some children remembered that Paolo was the park intern last year for the Rocks and Rivers Classes and were happy to meet him again.
The children practiced having their feet washed, first with the teachers and then with Paolo. They also rehearsed sharing a special meal together at the invitation of Jesus.
In the drama area, the children used Matzos and grape juice to experience serving each other a small taste of these special foods.
We also are preparing centerpieces for the tables at the reception. It will be a pleasure to host all of you and the children are excited.
Some notes for Monday:
- Please, NO TIGHTS. The children will need to take off their shoes and socks for the foot-washing.
- Please be on time. We need a moment to put on our costumes. You will drop off at the door and wait for us in the Sky and Trees Classroom while the children prepare in our classroom. We need to have everyone by 8:20.
- If you are bringing food or helping to set up, please arrive at 8:10.
- Every child should have at least one special adult visitor at worship and at the reception.
- Siblings are welcome. If your older child is coming from another classroom, please make arrangements with that teacher as well.
- We will need some help right after the worship. We need to move some tables and chairs. Look for Ms. Sytsma if you can help.
