What a great trip we had on Friday. The Rivers Class students enjoyed the walk to the bank. They deposited coins from the Lenten collection and asked the teller about how the money will go from the bank to the schools helped by Pencils of Promise.
After the bank, we walked to Columbus Park and enjoyed a picnic snack. What a beautiful day for being with friends outside.
Some played freeze tag; others explored the trees in the park and other aspects of nature.
Then we walked to the firehouse at Clinton and 8th. The children were warmly greeted for a tour of the rescue trucks and all of their equipment. Almost everyone sat in the firetruck and we asked a lot of questions.
We saw so much equipment and also the firefighters' gear.
