Rocks Class Bank Trip

It was finally the day to take our Lenten pennies to the bank to be sent to Pencils of Promise. On our walk we listened carefully for birdsongs and spotted several chicks peeking out of nests in the cornices of buildings. Along Washington Street, there were roadworks and we saw a large dump truck and a small excavator.

At the bank, each child came to the teller to pay in two rolls of pennies, $1.00. 

We looked at the receipt and saw that all $8 had been paid in.  

Once at Steven's Park we ate our snack together as a picnic.

The children enjoyed playing in the playground. Since we last visited in the Fall, the children have grown and discovered new games.

Thank you to Kennedy and Lizzie's moms for spending the morning with us.

We moved over to the field and played a little soccer. 

Miss Santos gave us a lesson on how to trap the ball to stop it rolling out of bounds. 

Some children collected the last cherry blossoms and decorated imaginary places.

Tired out, we returned to school for story and singing. We read The Pigeon Finds a Hotdog by Mo Willems. On our trip we saw 5 types of bird; pigeon, sparrow, starling, robin, and seagull.
