When the children returned to school on Monday they were surprised to hear we were still celebrating Christmas! We celebrated Epiphany and heard the story of the three wise men, or kings, who came bearing gifts.
Later in the morning we had three visitors in the Rivers Class. The three eighth grade students who take on this role travelled through the school with different gifts for each class.
After opening the gift, one child responded "You know what this means... we have to get them a gift."
Our class received a set of transparent Magnatiles. They were very popular at the light table during activity time as children explored being able to see inside the structures they built.
Alex made Antartica with standing icebergs. When asked if there was anything he would want to add to his Antartica, Alex replied, "Penguins."
A set of penguins from the game Pengoloo soon made their home in our Antartica.
The Rivers Class has another special visitor. Ms Streelman is teaching in our class through the winter term. At Ms Streelman's activity, the children made a drawing of their families and she is getting to know each child. We are grateful for Ms Streelman's help with all our outdoor gear.
