Let's meet Livy and Alice, interns in the Rocks and Rivers Class this month. Both students are in the middle school at Mustard Seed School.
This month middle school students take electives for two of their classes. These electives are filled with exciting possibilities such as print-making, basketball and Lego engineering. One option offered is to spend time working with younger students in our school. These internships are highly coveted positions with students eagerly anticipating the year they can apply. This time is also anticipated by The Nest as we see the rewarding relationships that develop.
Livy is with our class through park and snack time. She will run games at the park, talk with the children over snack, and help by reading books.
Alice is with us for activity time. Today she played a memory game, helping the children take turns, an important habit for three- and four-year-olds to practice. This is Alice's second year as an intern.
Both interns helped us get in and out of all our rain gear. We look forward to spending the next three weeks with our interns.
