On our walk to the park, Ms Santos pointed out a worm beside the sidewalk. We stopped to take a closer look and noticed the worm had made a track through the mud showing where it started moving. We saw that our rainboots made different imprints in the mud, leaving our own tracks.
The April showers overnight had washed soil and worms into the playground. Some children immediately got to work rescuing the worms and moving them to the nearby patch of soil.

A couple of children took their time, watching friends handle the worms and building up courage, before touching a worm themselves.
We learned how to gently hold the worm in the palm of our hands. We always enjoy when our city children get to experience God's creation in these small, unexpected ways.
At the end of park time, we sadly said goodbye to the worms, leaving them to burrow into the soil.
In one week, the Rocks Class will help tell part of the Easter story in worship. We're looking forward to your joining us on Tuesday for worship and a reception afterwards.
