The discovery table has reopened with a new material inside: sand!
First, children explored the sand using only their hands: pushing, pulling, sifting, piling.
Then we added tools to the discovery table: scoops, cups, rakes, sifters.
Next we will add buried treasures to uncover and recover.
The discovery table is a much requested place to visit. Only two children play in the space to allow for conversation and collaboration.
We have noticed the servant hearts in our community who are willing to sweep up the spilled sand, even when they were not responsible for the spill.
