Have you heard that the Worship Basket is available in the break area during morning activity time? The basket contains the props that are used to tell the story during morning worship
In the break area, a more quiet, reflective space, students work alone or with a partner, taking turns and collaborating as they retell the story from worship.
People and animal figures, trees and other props, the setting cloth and the ribbon road--all are touched, placed, admired, shared, and used to tell the story as the children remember it.
This week one story was about Zacchaus, the tax collector who climbed a tree to see Jesus, and when Jesus looked up, he said, "I'm going to your house today!"
Students might sing the song "Zacchaus was a Wee Little Man" or "The Trees of the Field" as they move the figures.
