Walking Trip Photos

Before going on our walking trip, we wondered what we might see...
If we look up: an airplane, a helicopter, clouds.
If we look down: grass, dirt, our shoes.
If we look around: squirrels, a big slide, a rabbit, a puppy.
The children thoughtfully wondered if we might see Steven on our trip to Stevens Park!

Thank you to the parents who volunteered to chaperone the class. We had a busy morning and were thrilled with the weather. Eliza called our trip "an adventure!"

First we walked to the park and enjoyed the different equipment in the playground.

Soon our attention was captured by the nature surrounding us. A puddle to stir with branches. Buried rocks too beautiful not to bring back to school.

We didn't bring back to school the two ladybugs and the creepy crawly insect we found. 

We visited the bathroom and enjoyed a picnic snack together. 

Then we explored the mighty rock nearby. Climbing, scrambling, jumping, digging.

After a long walk back to school, we enjoyed an extra snack and story time with Piggy and Gerald. It was a wonderful morning exploring the outdoors. We checked off many sightings from our list. On Friday we will investigate the nature treasures we brought back from the park.
