Today we're going to start a new-for-home activity, Wet, Dry Try. The students spent a couple of weeks on this activity at school and you can see their work here. On small slates, the children traced a line with a small sponge (wet) and then repeated with a tiny paper towel (dry) and finally formed a line on their own with chalk (try). Repetition like this offers deep practice.
We don't have the same supplies at home as at school. When I looked around my home for erasable drawing options I found these possibilities. What do you have that could work? If you don't have anything erasable, a crayon and piece of paper will work.
Today we will start with the Letter L. We start our letter at the top. If you have an erasable option, the adult can draw the first letter and the child will trace over the letter to erase, before drawing their own. Ms Baker made us video directions. There was also a page of letter directions in your take-home bag. In class we practice the erasable option several times before trying the letter with pen on paper.
