In this season of Advent, we are surrounded by the nativity story. The children are hearing books read aloud that are about the birth of Christ. They enjoy retelling the story with small wooden figures as we get ready to tell the Christmas story in worship next week.
In drama, the children take on the roles of shepherd, angel, Mary, and Joseph.
And they are preparing to welcome their families into the classroom by creating centerpieces. Everyone has helped stipple and snip to make the room beautiful for guests.
As we wait, we are preparing to celebrate. The children have agreed with excitement to help tell the story next week by being the sheep. We have rehearsed with Miss Chalmers in the Community Room.
