Today we welcomed a new assistant teacher to the Rivers Class community!
Ms. Hwa Young Gluckow has already spent time in the class as guest teacher. Ms. Gluckow's background and training is in art and design, and we are happy that she will be joining us on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings as we explore new art languages.
Ms. Gluckow lives in Weehawken with her husband John, her son, Oskar, who is 10-years-old, and their dog, whose name is Oliver. Oskar started at MSS in 2014 when he was in first grade, and now he is in 5th grade. Oskar is a fine musician, who plays
several musical instruments.
Ms. Gluckow is very excited about getting to know everyone in the Rivers Class, and she looks forward to making lots of paintings and art projects with different materials! She has seen some of our art in the hallways and in the classroom and she noticed that our art looked interesting and fun.
Ms. Gluckow tells us that she loves hiking. She grew up going hiking on lots of mountains in Korea. She says, "Hiking makes me feel relaxed and refreshed. The fresh air and the tree smells never get old. Nature is so beautiful every season." Ms. Gluckow also likes baking cookies and cakes, and her whole family loves what she makes!
