Spring has Sprung!

Rivers Class students were delighted to notice many signs of spring today: in the park, in the hallway, in the classroom, in a book that we read together at the end of the morning.

"Look at that tree! It's pink!"

"And there's one that is white!"

"I see one that is purple!"

"We need to clean this dust [pollen] off the slide!"

"Look! There are flowers in the hallway!"

 And the Discovery Table is now filled with... dirt!

 Students painted yellow tulips today, noticing the number of stems, leaves, and petals.

 And in collage, flowers of many colors were cut out and glued onto a background paper.

At the end of the morning, our read-aloud book was The Grand Old Tree, and as Ms. Gluckow turned this page, one student exclaimed, "That looks just like the tree we saw in the park today!"
